Terms and privacy

In short

Terms of use

Using Rutero

You need an account to check in, earn points, add places and compete. Browsing the map and planning routes is free. You must be at least 16. You’re responsible for what you do with your account.

Safety on the road

Rutero’s information is added by riders and places: it may be incomplete, outdated or wrong (hours, prices, gas availability, road conditions). Check what matters before you go. Times and routes are approximate. Always follow traffic laws. Rutero doesn’t navigate and doesn’t replace your judgment on the road.

What you add

Places, photos, descriptions and votes you add must be real and your own. Made-up places, private homes, photos of people without their permission, offensive content and misleading ads are not allowed. By adding content you let us show it on Rutero while the service exists. If you delete your account, your photos are deleted; places other riders already visited stay on the map, without your name.

Points, medals and badges

They’re part of the game and have no cash value. They can’t be sold or transferred. We may correct them if we detect cheating (for example, fake locations). If in the future they can be redeemed for perks at participating places, each place sets the conditions of its perk.

Moderation

We may remove content that breaks these rules and suspend accounts that cheat or harass others.

Place accounts

Whoever creates or claims a place states that they manage it or have permission to. Seeing how many riders have your place on their route is free; we never show who they are or when they’re going.

Changes and warranties

Rutero is in testing and may change, have bugs or stop working. It’s provided “as is”. If we change these terms in an important way, we’ll let you know in the app. They’re governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic.

Privacy

What we store

Why

To run the game (validate check-ins on the server and prevent cheating), show places and rankings, send the notices you chose, and improve the app with overall usage numbers.

Who sees what

Who we work with

We store data with Supabase (servers in São Paulo, Brazil) and publish the app with Cloudflare. Maps, routes and place search are requested by your browser from map services (OpenStreetMap and similar). If you open a route in Google Maps or Waze, their own policies apply.

Your rights

You can see and correct your data in the app, and delete your account with all your data from Settings → Delete my account. For any request about your data (Argentine Personal Data Protection Law 25,326), contact us. The Agency for Access to Public Information is the supervisory authority in Argentina.
